Pausa

by Matthew Clark
In Italy, one cannot go without noticing the differences in how the Italian culture views work and family. Work is the means and time with family is the ends. In American culture employment can define an individual. In Italy, pausa gives workers three hours of rest during the day. This is a time meant not just for rest but for time with family, a concept not heard of in American culture.
